Villa Goal Watch - 22/01/12

The Under 6's were in action on Saturday morning, playing host to Stanway Villa. After good passing from the boys, Adam Wrathall struck the ball past the goalkeeper in the first game to add to his tally for the club. In the second game, the rain started falling but all the boys from both teams battled on and after a goalmouth scramble, the ball trickled over the line, with Bailey Dunn believed to have got the final touch!

At the other end of the age range, the Mens team played at home to Polstead in the first round of the Osbourne Cup. The guys continued their good form with a 5-0 victory, though Player-Manager Joe Cameron-Wallace had his blushes spared early on when the ref pointed to the spot after a push. It was left to Villa goalkeeper George "The Cat" Scott, who won the mind games and dived the right way to stop the penalty from nestling in the bottom corner. Villa took the lead through Tom Vickers first ever goal for the club he's been with for two seasons, a great hit from 20 yards. But it was Josh Hodgson who scored four goals yet again. Some great assists from Tyson Browning, Andy Gardner and player-manager Joe Cameron-Wallace. The unbeaten run now stands at seven games, with six wins and a draw.

It may be just the start for Colchester Villa Under 7's, with this only their fourth match, but it was very much a case of the final countdown as Villa ran out 10-1 winners thanks to FOUR from Aiden, THREE from Jamie, TWO from Nafey and ONE from Emmanuel. Click Here for a full match report!

Two cracking goals came in the second half for the Under 8's blues with Chayse West scoring after some great teamwork from the midfield and after a fantastic turn of speed Chayse sped away from the defenders to calmly slot the ball past the keeper. The second goal was from a corner. For the second week in a row, another superbly delivered ball from Jamie Donley was scored by Nafey Rice who with great strength stood his ground to head the ball brilliantly past the keeper into the goal.

The Under 8's Reds goal came from some superb individual play from Matthew Wisdom who dribbled with the ball from defence past two players to the halfway line and passed to Louis Good who with great turn of speed raced away from the defenders to score a great goal past the Holland keeper.

In the Under 9’s Blues match, Chelsea fan Matthew Birch scored from a free kick just outside the area, with a Lampard stylie strike.  His fierce drive parried by the goalie but spun back over the keepers body and over the line!

Not to be out done, the Under 9's Reds Harry Coates scored a beauty against Lexden. The goalie’s kick was seized upon by sharp-shooter Harry who drilled the ball home from fully 30 yards. Lovely jubbly.

The Under 12's Blues beat the Under 12's Reds 6-2 in a game that was a lot closer than the score line suggests. It was the second half that saw all eight goals, with Julius Uwimana getting a hat-trick and one each for Chris Langohr, Eldon Taylor and Cameron Ismail. Prolific Reds striker Piers Hobson got a brace for his team to continue his hugely impressive goalscoring streak this season.

The Under 12's Girls were away to "the Barcelona of Under 12's Girls Football" and performed brilliantly to come away with a 2-1 victory. Click Here for a full match report!

Joe Reader got one and Callum McLaughlin two as the Under 15's Reds beat Colchester Athletic 3-2 to consolidate their mid-table position.

The Under 15's Blues travelled to Halstead town but were unlucky to lose with Jack Goodey scoring his first ever goal for the club with a penalty, described by the player himself as "unsaveable, amazing, un-describable, talented, cooly taken, unbelieveable tekkers".

Elliot Ault and hit a brace and Ryan Pawandiwa yet again got his name on the Goal Watch as the Under 12's Blues moved into the next round of the cup with a 3-2 victory away to Little Oakley.

Keep checking back for updates of more goalscorers for the club this weekend.
